Saline Removal

Saline removal is a good option for clients that want small areas of their past permanent cosmetics lightened or removed.

This process does not work well for regular tattoo removal. The Saline removal may take more than one sitting. The client will need to come in for a consultation in order to discuss how to proceed.

What to Expect at the Saline Removal Appointment:

Unlike the other procedures, I do not always pre-numb the area. Numbing blanches the skin and sometimes interferes with knowing what area I need to work on.

Aftercare is very simple for this procedure. The client will leave the area alone for 7-10 days of initial healing time. The object is to let the area scab and pull the previous ink out. All after care will be gone over at the time of the appointment.

Long Term Care for All Procedures

After healing use sunscreen daily to help prevent fading. If you donate blood, it is the Red Cross policy that you wait one year after a procedure.

IF you are planning on a chemical peel, MRI, or other medical procedure, please tell them you have had iron-oxide permanent cosmetics.

If you are planning on laser removal on your upper lip or Photo Facial with an IPL, you must tell your laser specialist that you have had permanent cosmetics so this area can be avoided by laser. Both ablative and non-ablative lasers may cause pigment to turn black.
