Read Before Your Appointment

TATTOO PROCEDURES

1. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD WITH VALID ID FOR TATTOOS AND PERMANENT COSMETIC PROCEDURES.

2. CONSULTS ARE FREE – If you want an in-person consult you must arrange a time or call before you come in so that time may be set aside and you do not catch us in the middle of an appointment.

3. BOOKING – For fastest response please feel to call the shop 301-799-5060 during business hours. Leave a message if your call is not answered and we will respond ASAP. All quotes require in person consultation. Shop minimum is $100-$150. Use our online appointment request form. Your request is generally answered with in 24- 48 hours.

4. INFO NEEDED FOR CONSULTATION.

– Placement on body
– Is it a cover up or going around or near other tattoos (this may require an in person consult)
– Any reference materials to support your idea and a clear statement of what you would like to be done. Materials may be texted to my cell, emailed or uploaded to our online form.
– Desired size.  We will discuss whether the desired size will work.

All quotes require in person consultation. Any phone estimates are subject to change based on information provided in person. 

5. IS IT A GOOD FIT FOR US?  Let’s discuss your idea and make sure it is a good fit for Talon Studio. Education has always been the corner stone of the business and questions are encouraged.  If we think the placement will not work for a particular piece or the sizing is too small, we will explain why. There are plenty of ideas on the web that may be doable but will not stand the test of time.   We care deeply about the work and try to respect customers’ ideas and time.  Owner Raya has been skin tattooing professionally since 1996 and performing permanent cosmetics since 2012.  She also has an art degree from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago.

Raya will let you know if something is not in her wheelhouse.  Talon wants satisfied clients and communication is key to a good result.  Raya specializes in color, black/grey, tribal, decorative, animals, flowers (other nature subject matter), mythical, symbolic, cover ups, reworks of old tattoos, work over scars of all sorts and her own personal style.

Please do not ask for hyper realistic portraits or for micro tattoos. Again if you are not sure if your idea fits into this just ask. We will redraw an idea not copy someone else’s custom-drawn tattoo. There is a difference between tattoo flash which is reused many times and bringing in a photo wanting someone else’s exact custom tattoo.

5.  PIERCING AND PIERCING JEWELRY

The shop does not current offer these services or jewelry

Deposits

Deposits are $75 and non-refundable, so please be sure you want to get tattooed.  This is not an extra charge but rather is deducted from the cost of the service or from the last sitting of an ongoing tattoo project.  The deposit is forfeited only in the event of no-show or with less than 24 hours notice of need to change appointment time. Please do let us know if you are running late.  

Shop Minimum/Hourly

The minimum is $100- 150. All one-sitting tattoos will be quoted based on size, design and body placement. The only time an hourly rate will be charged is for larger pieces where the artist  is uncertain exactly how long it might take or for large multiple session projects (2 hour minimum).

The hourly rate for Raya is $180. 

Consultations

Please call or come by the shop to talk to us about your tattoo. Consultations are free and a non- refundable downpayment is taken for scheduling of tattoo appointments. No drawing for appointments will be done without the deposit.

PROTOCOLS FOR SAFETY

1. All measures usually taken to ensure your safety to prevent cross contamination of Blood Bourne pathogens and infectious diseases are already in place for your protection.
2.  Single use pre sterilized disposable tubes and disposable needles
3.  Barrier film or poly backed coverings on all surfaces and equipment that will be touched by tattooist and their client. Disposable and single use.
4. Single use and disposable gloves
5. Single use ink caps and single use poured ink.
6. Distilled water for disposable rinse cup
7. Surfaces and equipment will be wiped down before and after set up of the tattoo with a hospital grade disinfect.
8. Floors will be mopped at the end of each day
9. Trash will be disposed of in safe manner.

ADDED CLEANING PROTOCOLS

In addition to the items above, the additional protocols will apply between clients:

1. Wipe down door knobs, counters, light switches, bathrooms, and any other surface the client might have touched
2. All furniture that the client might come into contact in the front of the shop will be non-porous and wiped down between each client.
3. The client will not touch any retail items, but can ask for assistance.
4. HEPA air purifier will be in use.

WHEN YOU COME TO THE SHOP FOR AN APPOINTMENT

1. Masks are not required to enter the shop but will still be required to be worn during any service appointment.
2. As always please be considerate and do not come to the shop if you or someone you are close to are sick, regardless of what the illness is. I am a sole proprietor, I value the health of all my clients and myself.  Call to reschedule at 301-799-5060.
